What Tim said. Make some connections and keep it going. Don't take business away from them but make sure your name is connected to the work you do with them, at least in the client's minds. ;)

I am starting a one man video production company. (I've done this for years but just as a hobby) I never had a proffesional camera. I wanted to ask some general suggestions about the camera to get. I

Why not just go with a Sony Z1U You'll be able to get some decent 1080I footage that is nicely convertable to 720p with most editors It's a pretty cheap cam with XLR connections and lots of pro option
Have I got my green screen set correct?
by mahesh upadhyaya 12 years ago
We are going to be filming a green screen type interview soon. I was just wondering how I would make sure, on location, that the green screen would chroma key in post. Is there a way I could use a lap

I use Ultra2 and it's not a bad program. If you sit and tweak it, it tends to come out looking pretty good. It's not as good as Keylight for aftereffects but it handles long files better. :)http: imph

Trimmer usage / editing workflow techniques... what's yours?
by tek2000 13 years ago
For a long time, I did all of my editting in the timeline only. For me, this almost always meant putting long video clips (3+ hours for 1 "clip") on the timeline and splitting it into smaller clips. F

I tend to use markers in trimmer and then drop into the timeline. Like someone said earlier, I use the waveforms a lot to figure out where my talent stops talking. With larger interviews I'll tend to

Re: Why is Frame Mode so horrible???

I shoot in frame on every production I do and it looks great. Perhaps you've got a problem specific to your unit I haven't noticed the problems you've talked about. I like it a lot more than the 30i.
GL2 in 24p?
by Nelson May 13 years ago
I don't can't find it in the specifications, but does the GL2 have a 24 p mode All I could see was a cinema mode. Is the cinema mode any good
Re: GL2 in 24p?
by steph st. laurent 13 years ago
Hi there. the GL2 has what is called a 30f mode which does a great job of making an image similar to 30p. No 24p or f at all. I shoot in 30f all the time to avoid jaggies. :) It's great. s.
