Wow, I am just now re-reading this thread. So many bits of information I had forgotten. One of the reasons the HP SAN wasn't working was that the SFP fiber transceivers connected to the Brocade switch

You might be looking at the DV footage through whatever deinterlacing is in Quicktime player If you play the footage back out to a SD broadcast monitor, it would probably look like your memory of it.
