Raid drive with USB

I shoot with a 4K camera and edit in Premiere. I recently purchased a WD MyBook hard drive for storing and working with video assets. I realized when it arrived that it is USB3 not Thunderbolt. Can so

Actually, it won't be slower, because a Thunderbolt version of that drive wouldn't be faster. A 1 or 2 spindle solution (depending on which MyBook you purchased) is only going to hit 100MB sec or 200M

Good call on switching to Premier Pro! Just make sure your project and sequence settings always match your footage perfectly. The set ups are uniquely diffeferent. As for 4K footage Vs Hd. Sometimes t

I need help compressing my 56 minute film to 2gigs or under for submitting an online link to festivals and not have it look horrendous.
Does anyone know a trick?
It is 1280x720 23.98.
I have tried many variations in compressor and straight from FCP but nothing is working.
I have one version that sort of looks ok but it is squished at 768x576. Does anyone know if festivals expect the online screener to look spectacular?

I agree with the 854 x 480 or even 832 x 464 (both numbers divisible by 16) is adequate. A film admissions judge is going to be looking for content not video quality and you better meet their specs...

shift + enter lets me open and play the clip from the browser. now I just need to get from open project to open project.
