you can use anything you want, agreed. if you're working alone, doing your own stuff, you could use CHAINSAWLINX and get good results. The reason FCPX was universally panned was because it didn't fit

Jennifer, you're right. Avid will make NEW media if you retranscode through the AMA route. So the MXF will be unique for each transcode. My understanding is it will not index and reconnect automatical
