Correction here .... the 200a is out, it's the 170 that isn't. 200a is half stop faster, less noise and getting great reviews.

Don't know about all else, but I'd certainly export a self contained QT not reference file if I were you. The odds of a reference file working properly under Windows would not be terribly high. David

check out avid.com downloads. they have some new codecs for making qt movies avids current 'dna' codec. 'dn145' seems to be the popular working format these days. peace-p@
Compressor "same as source" issue

Compressor will not allow me to create a new preset using "same as source" for size. Keeps defaulting to 320x240. There were lots of posts on the Apple site, but no solutions. Any solutions here. than

Fixed. Just copied one of Apple's presets and changed codec. It's still bogus though.

I'd recommend either ffmpegX or VisualHub. You should be able to encode to whatever MPEG-1 size you wish with those apps and they are very inexpensive.

Thanks Luke for the quick reply. So, the Decklink HD Extreme does software only downconversions and Multibridge Extreme and DeckLink HD Pro 4:4:4 PCI-X have the capability for hardware downcoversions.
