It depends largely on what footage you use, I have an old slow (2010) macbook air (although with 4GB memory) It can handle a long form documentary (xdcam ex), though you have to be a little masochisti

OK.. my main issue is performance!.. be buggered if i can get anywhere near 25fps grading 5DMkIII clips even with one simple grading node!. Average is about 12-18fps with a decent pause between clips.

I didn't even switch programs. I just went home and two hours later i found out that only 10 - 20 % was rendered. Restarting and re-rendering helped though. This never happened before, not in 17 years

Hi Your problem is caused by memory leakages of FCP. Besides restartiing ther is not much you can do about ik. Adding memory helps to a certain extend, as does quiting unneccessary programs that might

I'am afraid there is not much you can do. This problem (memory leakages) was partly solved in version 5. But even in FCP 6.0.4 you run into this kind of problems when editing xdcam or other interframe

Well, I did some minor tests and after examining the shots (3), I see your point. Not that I get this horrible results as you got. - maybe that's because of a different background color, light, etc- B
