Thanks Andrew - that's helpful. Good point about fair use not preventing legal action, justified or not.

by randall wurster 6 years ago
I'm exporting sequences from PremierePro CC - batch encoding via Media Encoder (FWIW, the problem I'm about to describe happens whether exporting is done in batch in AME or one at a time in PPro). For

FOLLOW UP: So, it actually has to do with the "optimize stills" checkbox it seems. I checked that when I was getting glitchy frames rendering out stills in the sequences. Unfortunately, I need that bo
Relinking or updating event files
by randall wurster 7 years ago

Thanks for the pointer on the compound clip. I'm not sure why I had the inconsistent behavior before, but if I replicate it, I will hopefully have learned something and update my post.

by Loren Risker 7 years ago
Ever since 10.0.6 if I select the event viewer and land on a clip with a range already selected, when I switch back to the timeline the viewer window plays back the event viewer's selection until I cl

This happens to me, and it also drives me nuts. Glad to know it's actually a bug - that has to be fixed in the next release.
Open in timeline
by Oliver Peters 8 years ago
If you open a master clip using "Open In Timeline" you can apply source-side filters, like a Log-C-to-709 LUT filter. When you cut this clip into your project the effect is applied. That's the expecte

I just got burnt doing this myself. Either I'm not getting something (I hope) or "Open in timeline" is really potentially a nightmare. Am I understanding this right... I've been editing exclusively in

Thanks for the reply - multicam is the issue, as far as I can see, you cannot "detach audio" - its always greyed out for me (if anyone has experienced otherwise, please let me know!) I'll continue to
Working natively with XDCAM footage in FCPX

Over the course of several days, our production company will be offsite shooting about 20 hours worth of corporate presentations with two EX3 cameras. Basically, 40 hours worth of material - I will be

Very interesting post, thanks. Great point about the exporting and FCPX re-compressing, that's good to know.

Fair enough... apologies if I seemed to be putting words in your mouth. It just struck me as another "FCPX is just a fancy iMovie and is not a real pro app" post. There's a lot of that going around. ;
