Thanks, but I don't have my previous cs5 install anymore. I contacted the support team at Cineform and they've been awesome - they reset my activation and sent me zip files of all the legacy plugins.

I am upgrading my edit system at the end of the year. Up until now, I've been running Premiere CS5.5 and FCP7 on a 2008 Mac Pro. Obviously, any upgrade will be a huge performance boost at this point.

I've never had much luck with QT conversion from FCP. I always send out a self-contained QT with the sequence settings and encode from there.

I have found FW400 and USB2 are about the same speed (roughly) 1GB minute but FW800 is twice as fast (roughly) 2GB minute. I believe the drives are the bottleneck.

are you actually animating the ufo (e.g. taking a frame, moving the model, taking another frame...) most model work like UFO fly-bys is done by rigging some thin wire to the model then actually flying
