There are a ton of active Vegas communities---Sony's, is very good. There are a bunch of free tutorials out there if you look for them.

Its a nice basic product, but obviously sales aren't going well enough to warrant consistent releases of good music. To be quite frank, I think this product is not making Sony money and I dont see the

Also keep in mind that your light sensitivity will take a big hit if you use the HVX200----that might effect your decision depending upon the type of documentaries you shoot.

Both firewire and USB are merely pipelines for data. You get the same data whether or not you capture with firewire or USB---Although firewire is generally more reliable, plenty of people are capturin

I have used both---Cinescore would be a great product if they would release more and higher quality themes---Everything sounds so synthetic.

100B is excellent---a huge step up----the HVX is a P2 based system and alot more expensive.

We are very pleased with our 900----very sharp picture with enough controls to allow you to adapt it to your needs. I think that Panasonic wasn't far off when they called it the HD version of the SDX9

No--Edius also announced support but I am not sure it is functional. Also Avid, there Liquid product supposidely supports it. By the way, support for FCP was announced but it hasn't been released yet.

I am pretty much where you are---I was very tempted by both the Red (who knows when that is coming out) and the 1 2" XDCAM HD---I ended up buying the X1U to use along with my standard def cameras----I
