Basically Optical Flow is a better way of doing speed remapping. The Frame Averaging method, as the name suggests, averages adjacent frames together over the length of a shot to create the in-between

Hi Mike, In FC you don't need to use the Shift key to resize keeping the x y proportional. If you use the Shift key, what you are doing is distorting. Have a look in the "Distort" in the Motion tab to

thanks Wayne I think I am slowly understanding :-) we intend to capture HDV material off our sony camera, we also have DV material that we want to work with I think we will copy a set up like yours. p
