nothing automatic I am aware of (other than the setting for if the frames per second gets too low which is not what you want) but you can change display modes with a keyboard shortcut -- by default 'L

If you really want to control the formatting of your text, best bet is to do it in Illustrator, save as Illustrator 8, then merge into C4D. Yes, its a pain, but C4D doesn't really have much control of

ah, you are looking for the Text object (in Create Spline Text) and or if you have MoGraph the MoText object. They don't work like your example, you add the object which has "Text" as the default then

plugins almost always have a read me file which has instructions for installation but that's almost always to put it in the Plugin folder. Not many have textures but the few I've seen keep the texture

I suspect something other lack of RAM is the issue. I have no trouble rendering with many lights on my MBP i7 also with 16 GB, nor on my MBP Core 2 with 8GB of RAM. Its slow but not 25 hours. Check yo

I have. Using my MB for After Effects and C4D mainly, I have yet to see major performance increase from 8GB. Perhaps it was already fast because of two SSD's. No issues with processor though. Would I

The short answer is that you will be fine 99% of the time with 8GB ram. You may want more if you use huge textures and tons and tons of high-poly objects in a single scene. You'll know you have a prob

It isn't really!! Perhaps when you start using plugins like TurbulenceFD, or if you have a large number of Undo states. In terms of memory for the 3D and stuff, C4D actually uses the GPU. So the large
