I've never had any issues with any OS update since Lion - but I *always* do a clean install. I see it as a chance to do some virtual housekeeping once every year or so. My advice would be to hold off

If you go to Proxy in a 1080p timeline everything should look solid enough for cutting whether it's 1080p or 4K to begin with. I personally wouldn't go messing around with making my own proxies- more

The Bittorent solution might take a little more to set up but once that's done a client shouldn't have to do more than click on a link to launch the torrent app and then select where to save the file.

I'm not sure you could expect much else if you decided to shoot pseudo flat on a grey, overcast, low contrast day. Especially if your white balance was off kilter when you shot the footage. Sometimes
