I think you'll do better to keep saving your money and investing in a new laptop. Do you have Thunderbolt on that system If not, then there's no external acceleration available. Allan Barnwell TM Tele

Thanks for your answer Jeff, I have heard that you can adjust the effects in FCPX with motion So that you can create your own effects. Do you know if this is correct And if this isn't correct, do you

Good day everybody,

Okay, so I'm working in FCP 7 on a Max OS X 10.9.5 with a 2,66 GHz intel core 2 Duo processor.

I live in Europe and learned that, when editing, I need to use Pal and 25 fps. The thing is I threw a picture/still image in my Sequence with the following presets:
- Frame size: 720 x 480
- Vid Rate: 29,97 fps
- Compressor: DV/DVCPRO NTSC
- Pixel aspect: NTSC - CCIR 601

But my Sequence itself has the following presets:
- Frame size: 344 x 146
- Vid Rate: 29,97 fps
- Compressor: Photo - JPEG
- Pixel Aspect : Square

As you can see are two very different from each other. Exporting works fine, no problem whatsoever. But I'm not sure if I'm playing a dangerous game here. So my questions are:
1. Should I be concerned about the fact that everything is in 29,97 fps (seeing as I live in Europe)?
2. Does it matter that the sequence and my JPEG file have different settings?

I would really appreciate all the answers I get!
Thanks in advance and a good day to y'all
