That's mostly 3D camera tracking. The camera tracking has to start with the video. Bring that into a 3D app (I use Maya for this) and place your tracking points that to match whatever you wish to add.

I've only had to work with R3Ds. Usually user error. One file got corrupted in my 9 years working with that format. I stayed away from the new DNxHD ProRes options.

We are using a few Canon DSLR Zooms with the EVA1s. The basics like 24-105 f4 and 24-70 f2.8. We use ours on a Helix Jr. so no big zooms Not sure if that helps.

If you do run into the situation where the Audio is drifting out of sync with the Video this is what I have done in the past. Use ProTools to do a Sample Rate Conversion from 24 to 23.976fps. The nice

From my experience it's GPU and RAID. CPUs not so much. I run 12.5 on a 2012 MacPro as well as 2013 fully loaded. I use to have the CUBIX and a few Quadros in the past. For what I do, it was overkill.

Please try and do your first light in REDCINE-X. If you can find a decent LOOK in there then bring that back into Avid. I find the Color grading tools in Avid kinda of a hit and miss.
