Duplicate a pre-comp and make it independant?

If you duplicate a pre-comp, you can't change things in the new pre-comp without changing them in the mother pre-comp as well. I guess they become two clones of the same parent comp or something... In

Tudor, if you hold Alt (Option on Mac OS) while drawing using the shape tool, you get a bezier path, not a parametric shape. To Eric's question: There is no way built into After Effects to do a conver
