Download the latest MPEG streamclip. It's free, it works great for transcoding. I use prores to transcode. The problem is the h.264 footage is heavily compressed and takes loads of processor time just

The image size starting out is 72dpi resolution @ 1280x800px dimension. The final target output settings when using "Save For Web" in Photoshop should be: 72dpi resolution @ 1280x800px dimension JPEG

Ok, you are seeing differences between files size and the "uncompressed" size in RAM. 246.7kB should be the compressed file size ON DISK, BUT 2.93MB is the memory size. Calculated by: 800px x 1280 px

Well, in that case, try opening the file(s) in Acrobat pro if you have it. Have a look at the image quality there. If you have a larger, higher-rez file, try loading that instead. I've never had much
