Hi Christopher. Just get a copy of Quicktime Pro, and convert to something else. You could start with AVI uncompressed, but if that's HD, you'll need some very fast drives. You could also try Motion J

Im not 100% but I think you are correct about not being able to export those file types. Mac has a great video converter called "Handbrake" Its free and does a great job converting files.
