Just be patient. How big is your card I have the same experience where progress bar quickly jumps to 95% completed and then just hangs for maybe 10min for a full 16gb card- never timed it but it felt

What Noah said. There is a pin in the adapter that engages the iris ring of the FD lens that enables you to manually adjust iris. If it is not engaged the iris opening won't change. Lock or unlock but

No 8gb limit. I'm using 16gb cards as I write this (time lapse work). You may have to upgrade the firmware on your camera, but that's it.
