Hey Sonya! Try this: Duplicate your timeline (to save the previous version). Open your Project settings (Command J). Change the video format to "Custom" and resolution to something square, like 640x64

I'm with Bret. The short answer for me would be "both." AE is the industry standard for motion graphics, so knowing it can only be a good thing, and with Motion's deep integration with FCPX and its $4
