hi, I am have a wiggle expression that is being controlled by a slider property, I move the the slider up and down and I get a wiggle, but if I move it to the same value the wiggle is exactly the same

I believe that wiggle seeds itself from the layer number. So make a solid, turn off the visibility, place it ABOVE the wiggling layer (which ups the layer number of the wiggle layer by one) and you'll

This isn't the most elegant solution, but I've found that you can COPY PASTE from one PPRO project to another, and it will use existing clips where possible. Here's my process (again, not the most ele

Roughen Edges Effect On Layer Mask Weirdness

Hi all, OK so here s the problem . I have applied the roughen edges effect to a solid layer; this solid layer also contains a mask. The layer is then switched to 3D and a camera is keyframed to track
Re: Roughen Edges Effect On Layer Mask Weirdness

The roughen-edges stuff needs to happen in a comp that isn't have collapsed transformations applied. The easiest method for this in my mind is to nest it inside the comp it is currently in, and don't

Note that the asterisk key adds a marker to selected layers only. I will often put in a layer, turn off its visibility, and use is exclusively for layer markers. You might even want more than one laye

When you have such strong, contrasty, saturated colors running into each other, you should expect the jaggies that you're seeing with ANY 4:2:2 codec (or 4:1:1, or 4:2:0, etc). That's because of the 2

Rendering multiple cameras

I have an AE comp with 8 cameras. It's a 1080p comp with a great deal of 3D nested comps, so render times are really long. I need a separate render for each camera for the length of the comp. Since th

A clarification to Kevin's method: 1. Take your entire comp and nest it in a new one. 2. Copy all your CAMERAS AND LIGHTS and paste them in the new comp. (You don't have to disable them in the other c

Changing default "Custom" resolution size?

I'd try to make the background of the footage as even as possible. The "Change Color" filter can help with subtle adjustments, for instance. I've also had success using a Levels or Curves filter as an

Make sure all the animating stuff is in the precomp. Then it should work simply by enabling time remapping (command+opt+T) for your layer. Just tweak your start and end keyframe and you're set. Using

You need to render your video with an alpha channel. In your Render Queue, for the Output Module, choose the "Lossless with Alpha" preset. Later, you may want to customize things, but for now that sho

Think of your comp as the camera viewfinder. You can make your landscape much larger than what you see in the viewfinder. So your comp should be 1920x1080 but you can keep your landscape 12,000 pixels

You are only allowed a single Camera to be working at any given time. My suspicion is that your cameras aren't pointing at the same place, so your new camera hasn't deleted the other 3D item, it's jus
