hi looking to import a bunch of mini DV tapes into premiere. can anyone recommend a capture device workflow i bought an old panasonic camcorder but my edit mac wold not recognize the device for transf

Ah right. Apple giveth ports Apple taketh ports away. I can't remember if my cable from the MiniDV camcorder goes into a Firewire port or a USB port. In any case, I have some drives with both Firewire

would it be workable to install and run final cut x on an external firewire drive instead of having to partition my startup drive - which i guess means clearing it off and partitioning, etc thanks.

has anyone encountered the 'device removal' message when waking after sleep 10.5.6 imac intel core 2 duo firewire 800 - graid drive - occurs with multiple cables any suggestions this could be a nightm

Just as an example, I have a USB 320GB drive for mobile use that would always crash any G5 model that fell asleep with it plugged in.

i am trying to split fcp audio tracks 1-4 and 5&6 to print to tape beta... assigning 1-4 to track 1 and 5&6 to track 2. i thought this was easy but maybe not... thanks. -andy

so, are you saying set audio tracks 1-4 to pan left and 5 & 6 to pan right i knew there was a simple way to do this without dealing with audio bus, etc. thanks a lot. -andy

i need to produce a pal dvd for a client from a ntsc FCP DVDSP project. first guess was just flip the switch in the dvdsp disc inspector... reimport assets and go... doesn't work. my audio is good but

OK, so i use compressor. i select mpeg2 and switch NTSC value to PAL. what audio setting should i use in a quick test, the audio track ends up a little but longer than video. also, how can i test this
