by Yair Bartal 1 month ago
After a project is finished, I'd like to get rid of its proxy file before archiving to save space. I guess just deleting them would cause Premiere to complain once I reopen the project. How should I g

Hi all, At work I edit with an old Mac Pro 12 core Intel Xeon with 12GB Ram and a Usb3 external drive. I am at LEAST able to edit in 1 4 resolution easily for 1920x1080 footage I get from Videoblocks.

I would try the old offline proxy method, i.e. transcode to an edit friendly codec (mpeg2 ) for editing, then replace back to originals for exporting. Google it to find more info.

"I don't know when this feature was introduced..." That is so since the very beginning of the proxy procedure in cc 2015.3.

Is it possible to mark which footage I have gone through vs, which I have not?

Basically when it comes to reviewing a shooting take in Premiere Pro, is it possible to mark on the timeline which parts of the video have been reviewed, and which parts have not been, without making

You could also go to the first frame and hit M, then click the marker while holding alt opt and drag it to where you want it to end.

I've thought about it again: How would it work if I need a different background for each angle to account for the different perspective
Ingesting AVCHD(h.264) files into FCPX without transcoding using either "Copy to library" or "Leave files in place" then exporting to QuickTime (h.264)
by Yair Bartal 3 years ago
Is that considered a re-wrap that does not involve a quality loss or a decode encode process that does involve a quality loss

Thanks Jeff, still I'm looking for a more definite info, specifically if one does need tools like ClipWrap EditReady for re-wraping or this can be done within FCPX.
PP CC 2014.1 on PC - some proxies relink, most don't. Why is that?
by Yair Bartal 3 years ago
PP CC 2014.1 on PC All original clips are in one folder and all proxies are in an adjacent folder. Timeline is empty. I renamed the original clips folder name so all clips and sub-clips went offline.
+1

Well, I just had to uncheck "Align Timecode" in the relinking dialog box and it worked.
