I use the sony z1u with fcp without any problems and I would expect the new cam to be the same. Simple firewire in and edit in HDV, or transcode live on capture to the apple intermediate codec. Also t
Surround Sound from QuickTime

As QuickTime will play Surround Sound, how do you output surround sound from the Mac; is it through the Digital Out If so, I assume that means the iMacs - which don't have digital out - cannot output

QT 7 can contain up to (i think) 24 tracks out audio. This audio can be compressed (aac, other) or uncompressed (up to 192 24bit), and can be assigned to a output (L, C, R, RR, LR...) or to a language

Depending on how many clips you have this might take a while. You need to double click on every clip on the timeline one by one and in the viewer go to motion tab, then down to distort, aspect ratio.

It has to do with the servo tension settings sending warnings over 422. You have two options. Turn off servo warnings in the menus or customize your device control settings to ignore them. VM

16bit audio uses 65K levels of volume for ever sample of audio. 24bit audio uses 16 million levels per sample. The steps between samples can be more accurate in 24bits. think of making an audio fade o

I have done this to transcoder all of my BetaSP to Dbeta to embed audio to SDI, but I used my old G4 500MHz laptop to control the io. I do not think that you'd have to remove the io's drivers though.

Re: Can the IO now be uswd as a stand-alone audio interface?

Yes and no. If you need to move audio from say SDI to four analogue tracks, the the io will do it with only an only firewire mac, say a DV imac, and the control panel software. But, if your trying to
