I would wait for Avid MC6 and FCPX 1.1 (hopefully with XML) and decide then :) I think its a really bad time to go switching your editing software, especially since your old FCP7 still works perfectly

I canot give you proof but while I was working on 32bit kernel with 1080p h264 files FCPX was "laggy", now on 64bit kernel it feels much snappier, skimming is much faster more responsive... well maybe
