2013 nMac Pro with eGPU for FCPX?

As new iMac Pros and Mac Pros appear on the horizon, wondering if there's any way to get more bang out of my now old 2013 Mac Pro trashcan. While I know it's possible to use an eGPU over Thunderbolt 2
