2 things you probably don't need in your render settings. You can uncheck "Render at Maximum Depth" and "Use Maximum Render Quality". Don't know if they'd affect your playback in the way your talking

In PPro, go to File menu, go to Adobe Dynamic Link, select Import after Effects Composition. If the AE project was created in an old version of AE, you may need to open it in AE and resave. Good Luck!

Not sure what the Videoguys will tell you, but if you are doing video color grading, you don't want a cheap TN LCD panel that can't represent colors correctly. Try looking for some of the IPS panels.

XP You could get XXClone (free) and clone the drive. I've successfully used XXClone on several XP systems. There is an option for making your cloned drive bootable as well. For XP I find this easiest.

When you do a 'Save As', does a new window pop up Then to the right of the name there is an arrow. If you click that you should be able to navigate to wherever you need to go to save the file. TC
