From what you describe It could be the OS or hardware, difficult to isolate. I would try the steps I outlined above, however you could bypass it and just clone your drive (your running a Time Machine

No Samsung cameras are supported by FCP. They shoot a proprietary format that doesn't import into the application. You might see if you can use Compressor or MPEG Streamclip to convert the media to Qu
