What's best way to reduce a lot of footage to just the usable clips?
by Tim Wilde 2 years ago
I'm curious what workflow people here use when faced with a ton of footage and they want to first cull out the unusable footage. I am not referring to simply using FCPX's rating system, because my goa

When you import your video through the import window you should be able to select the ranges and import only those ranges. Depending on what you are importing from.
Is it possible to delete unused parts of media, to reduce size of the FCPX Library?
by Tim Wilde 2 years ago
My typical Library file starts out large because of all the footage ingested and evaluated prior to editing. After the final edit is made, changes done, etc., I would like to delete all the unused sec

Thank you, Noah, Worx4 X sounds great if it actually works. Do you use it I noticed somewhere in their descriptions that it cannot do its magic on multicam and compound clips, though they implied that
How do you cut the master by referring to a timecode list without the timecode being burned into the picture?
by Tim Wilde 2 years ago
I gave my friend a copy of the raw footage of her event with timecode burned in so she could pick the parts she wants me to string together into a simple edit. I added the timecode window in Compresso

How do you adjust hue and sat of individual primary and secondary colors when using a OneShot chart and the vectorscope?

I've got a closeup of a OneShot chart. I cannot find a Resolve-specific tutorial that shows how to adjust the hue and saturation of the individual primary and secondary chips so they'll line up with a

Thank you, Marc! Very kind of you to respond. I had read Art's article earlier today but he used Apple Color instead of Resolve. The curve pictured in his article looked like a perfect solution, but a
NOOB question about V-Log L post workflow

All of the tutorials and articles I've seen about working with V-Log L (GH4, DVX200) involve applying a LUT to the edited timeline. I cannot imagine editing the washed-out V-Log L footage, much less d

After marking in/out/favorite is there a shortcut for replacing "Favorite" with other text?

When filtering for Favorites in Browser can you avoid needing to expand each clip to show the annotated faves?
