I would not recommend relying on either the dj to act sensibly. If the mic is on a stand you might be able to piggyback but I would not recommend if handheld. I would place a mic (preferably 2) close

The Backtraxx library from Digital Juice is quite good. Covers multiple genres (weddings, sports, corporate, atmospheric etc.) over about 28 CDs. I believe they also have a Backtraxx 2 library out now

I use the XM2 (the same camera, but it PAL land) and use the Canon VL10 light. It is a 10W light and uses the same battery types as the camera. It's more than bright enough for the bridal waltz. Canon
