AE doesn't play the video back like an NLE or a video player would. Everything loads up first and then plays back. Even if you would only play back a video without any effects on it. https: helpx.adob

Make a shape in AE and scale it up from zero until it fills the screen. Then copy it and offset it so it starts scaling over the previous shape. You can control the speed by moving the scale keyframes

You are probably time remapping the video so the part where you have the fade out is coming up during those time remap keyframes.

Your I O card does not support 4K so it doesn't output it. You can set whether the card scales an incompatible signal either up or down in the preferences-playback settings.

You're looking at the project gallery. It's empty if you haven't saved anything there. I don't have 11 installed but you can browse the preset gallery by choosing Gallery from the Workspace menu in 12
