I had to edit a series of mp4 video files. I converted them to Apple Prores 422 and then imported them to FCP 7 to do some minor editing. When I exported the QT file, there was no video. I've tried ex

I'd recommend exporting to Quicktime uncompressed and then using the freely available MPEGStreamclip to compress it to H.264, in the .mp4 format. Exporting to H.264 .mp4 in FCP takes too long and the

I'm editing a documentary in FCP 7 using XDCAM EX 50i files and sequences. For some reason, whenever I nest certain bits, they nested sequence requires audio rendering. When I add that nested sequence to my timeline, and or make any volume changes, I have re-render the audio. I files have the correct audio sample rate 48khz as do the sequenes. My next sequences only use 2-4 channels of audio. I have my preferences set to allow real time audio mixing of up to 10 channels of audio. Clearly I am not exceeding that.

Any idea why this constant audio rendering is required?
