Audio frequency of an indoor (hotel) waterfall?
by Vic Noseworthy 6 years ago
Hi folks, I recently shot a wedding at a hotel where there was a waterfall very near where the ceremony took place. I placed a mic as closely as possible, however, I still picked up the background noi

The trouble you may have is that noise like the waterfall is often broad band noise. That is, it isn't usually limited to one narrow band like a phone ring tone or a pump or motor. You can try looking

Something to keep in mind is that the actors may be wearing hidden lav mics in this scene, as well. It's common practice to use boom and lav mics at the same time. If the sound guy's doing his job rig

Yeah, I can see how an internally-cabled boom used in a school environment or someplace where lots of different folks will be using it might not be ideal. Inevitably, someone will be in a hurry or car

I don't hear any audio when I plug in my Rode NTG-1 microphone to my Sennheiser (SKP) transmitter. The receiver end is fed to a Zoom H4N. Everything works fine when I use my Shure sm57 mic but can't h

The NTG-1 doesn't have the option for battery power - the NTG-2 does. The Sennheiser transmitter doesn't supply phantom power. You'll need an inline adapter for that, or a mic that is battery powered.

Kathy, as our distinguished host Ty Ford says, "Welcome to Creative Cow." The A,B,G "blocks" with Sennheiser wireless gear indicate the frequency range that each supports. I would recommend buying a w

Andy, I am in about the same position. I'm in what you'd might call a "medium" market, not LA NY Chicago, but not Two Egg, Florida, either. I've got a better-than-average kit, with a few outstanding p
