Frank, Just media project data on your raid. apps os on internal. I'd recommend a 2nd internal that is a clone of your osx install. (SuperDuper app) for cheap free backup get dropbox and at least back

I get dropped frames recording to my SSD drives using ProRes 4:2:2HQ 1920x1080p 29.97fps. I can record ProRes 1080p LT but not HQ. The AJA disk rated the drives at 480MB s write and 512MB s read Here

Try DPX and see what happens. Nuke reading 20 files.. what compression is on the Tiffs Your raid may say 20MB's , but thats probably all Nuke can needs to pull... as its loading 20 tiffs. s

I suspect the main is used as the GPU and the UI is run off the 2nd all our macpro's currently run 8800's so am looking what comes out top for Resolve also plus if the 8800 is useful as the 2nd or not

How about media that is YUV that is soft imported with dissolves in it I take it smoke is doing a YUV RGB conversion before proc on any YUV codecs when soft imported also Is this why media on a 500MBs

It's a video i o card with the drive array direct attached to the card daughter card. the link from the array to the card therefore isn't the bottleneck it card computer. Thats what I take from it any

Few thoughts... Take a tiff 16 bit into photoshop. Check each channel.. which has the most noise Probably blue most though it's better in 16. My favorite way to denoise is either http: www.neatvideo.c
