Note, I originally thought that one of the drives was having problems, as I was having trouble creating a new array (it wouldn't initialize). However, with the help of tech support at CalDigit, this w

Thanks Bouke, Dave and Chris. Much appreciated. I have asked the animator to just re-render it, as you suggest. Am I right in assuming that any of the other options (converting in QT or AE) won't be t
XDCAM... rendering to ProRes?

by Shane O'Brien 9 years ago
Hi there, I have what is probably a very obvious question. I have an Canopus ADVC-100 and a JVC TM-H1750C video monitor that I used to use for video monitor about 6 years ago - connected to a Mac. I'm

I had put both items up for sale... no interest on the monitor, but lots on the converter (so Mark is right). Anyhow, thanks for comments. I will sell the converter and perhaps hold onto the monitor u
Help with choosing new speakers...

I need to buy some new studio monitors to replace the Edirols I had, which are no longer working. I was just going to get some MA-15Ds to replace them, but there is nowhere in the city (er country) th

Hi David, Another option would be to just get a pair of AV40s which are more similar to the Edirols I had. If I can only get unbalanced audio for the time being, is there going to be a great benefit o

Thanks for all the feedback... I notice no one has commented on using one of the various USB adapter out there (rather than a USB mic). Does anyone have any thoughts on USB adapters like the X2U How w
What format... 1080/30p?
by Shane O'Brien 10 years ago
I'm shooting a corporate project, and I'm new to the EX1 and HD. I'm based in North America. It is to go on DVD, the web, and possibly some higher res format that could be stored on the client's compu

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. It will only be output for NTSC and I won't need to down-convert to SD - so I'll stick with 1080 30p. Cheers.
Directional mic...

The EX1 I rented did not come with a directional mic. I'm assuming I should go back and get one I'm assuming the built in mic is not brilliant... Cheers.
