The thing is, my cards are rated at 84 MB s for the SanDisk cards that I have and 90 MB s for the Sony cards that I have, which both should be able to saturate the 50 Mb s data rate of XAVC. What give
Layer Renaming

I have a project with enough layers that I'm losing track of which layer a certain clip is in. Is there a way to change the V1, V2, V3, etc. in the timeline to new names

It depends on what kind of performance you're looking for. In all honesty, you could edit on a cheap laptop, but you wouldn't be having a very satisfactory experience. The things that impact smoothnes

Yep... erased it. Now that I've recovered from the concussion I gave myself with a 2x4, I'm wondering if it can be restored. Any ideas, leads, software Thanks much, R. - Ralph

SanDisk offers software, and while I have thankfully not had to use it yet, I've suggested it to others and got nothing but positive feedback. They've apparently found stuff that they never wanted to

I am by no means an expert in this, but I'll put my two cents here. I think it comes down to the size of the sensor, the amount of fine control (down to interchangeable OLPFs), file management, and th

DSLRs are great. Their biggest pitfall IMO is their lack of any way to monitor quality audio aside from the onscreen bars. I would say get a small, internally powered mixer (there are a few that attac

This is not possible, period. The sensor on a 2 3" camera is tiny compared to APS-C, and the image circle of the lens will not come anywhere close to covering it. You'll be looking down a tunnel. It's
