Try to get the mainconcept mpeg2 codec, it usually comes with premiere pro, but maybe its missing. The sure solution,(but you lose footage quality) is to reconvert the footage to a similar hdv setting

Lightsabers are best done in a compositor using roto. It's possible you can make a green stick that is well lit to try and get a mask without roto, but where it motion blurs may be a tricky key. See t
