Shaky Footage in Canvas

Re: Shaky Footage in Canvas

Alright I figured it out. There is a bug but it's very minor. Basically if you have 486p@24 anamorphic footage, and you have Best Performance set for playback, FCPX thinks it's interlaced as it scales

Most of the backlash has to do with metadata conversion (importing, sharing - even the ability to use a separate tape capture app). Personally I'm somewhat impressed with FCPX. The under-the-hood perf
Apple compressor: 50p -> 50i no interlacing?

I think it does this to encode faster. It segments Frame 1 into two fields, and then throws Frame 2 away into oblivion. Do you actually need a DV file or are you just trying to make a tape If it's jus

capturing 23.98 from an HD 59.94 tape into FCP
by Vanja Mutabdzija 10 years ago
I am trying to capture a show from a 59.94 tape as a 23.98 project because that is how the show was filmed. My problem is that the audio is then very slow and I'm not sure if there is a way around it

Sounds like your audio issue has nothing to do with the frame rate. Audio speed for 23.98 and 59.94 is the same. Sean
