I've had the same issue with 444RGB captured as 444 via Kona 3. Perhaps it was my render setting in FCP, but I had to color correct the black lift in 422 and I know you want to keep the 444, as did I.

I haven't used them but I've heard this place is pretty good... http: www.ivchd.com I think they have a system that records to film at 1920x1080 which means you avoid that sample upsampling to 2K.

Exactly. Except there aren't a couple bumps to fix, but instead a small continual bounce. I've been trying to manually fix it but it takes FOREVER and I'm not really able to get it close to right.
