The problem you are seeing has to do with a somewhat recent change in the phantom .cine format. When you use the onboard flash memory of the camera the controller software now lets you download clips

Steven, if you are shooting with an EX3, are you using the footage from the cards If so, just edit in native xdcam ex. You're not making any new information by converting to uncompressed. If you want

Sounds to me like a bit depth conversion problem, I'd say try converting the footage to the BM RGB 10 bit codec and see if it goes away. Also, check and make sure your FW is up to date in the card by

Apparently it is a problem in the firmware. The camera isn't properly compensating for the thickness of the ND's. According to at least one person on DVINFO, the 1.05 firmware solves this. Unfortunate

SDI on this camera is 1080i60 uncompressed 10 bit 422, so definitely higher quality than the XDCAM used on the cards. You will only see this benefit however if you are recording live. If you play out

The system can handle it, the only problem is you need a card reader since the two use different card types. If for some reason time is not a factor, you could also use the USB cable. -Sean

This is confirmed by the brochure as well (page 8). It is a center spot average (sampling only what is inside the center mark and averaging that data).
