Hey, Why didn't you import your dv tapes through FCPX When you import though FCPX, it creates a ProRes 422 mov. file. This file is just, or even more, high quality than iMovie's dv. file, and it works

I assume you are using the IE88 Tascam interface. Tascam did not follow the standard Sony P2 protocol (this is what the buzz name for the RS422 protocol was) - so I am not surpried you are having erro
