The FP33 comes stock with the Tape Out set at stereo line-level. You can adjust it to be summed L+R mono or mic-level by opening it up and doing some soldering. www.sam-mallery.com

Solved! The "DV DVCPRO - NTSC" .mov file I exported out of iMovie worked. FCP 4.5 accepted it! I saved $60, and I'll be able to finish this project up today. Big thanks to everyone who contributed to
