Is it possible to lower music volume in Source Monitor?
by Dustin Bowser 9 years ago
In Final Cut Pro I would always have to double click a music file and lower the volume by about -12 DB because music it also mastered much louder than production audio. I was wondering, is there a way

Yes this can be done. It's best to assign a shortcut for the function. With the audio file in the source, go to the edit menu and find audio options... Then select audio gain... Set the -12dB overall

I think I just figured it out. You need to drag the yellow marker on the timeline well to the right of your last clip. Now my playhead stops at the end of the last clip. I believe that yellow marker s

What is best setting for SD video to ne projected in large hall (from ProRes master)?
by Adrian Smith 8 years ago
Hello all: So forgive if this seems basic but it's been a while since I needed to deal with projection (and that was from Betacam SP). So here is the scenario. I have produced a video from HDV source.

And this just in from another editor. This sounds very good and I will experiment with this too. Interesting that a lower bit rate is suggested: Create a FCP timeline at the correct frame rate (23.98)

Saving Transitions in CS6
by Richard Hutt 7 years ago
I am using CS6 and like a lot of editors I find that a 30 frame transition is not always desirable. I tend to use transitions dissolves that are 10 and 12 frames long. I know how to do this, but I wou
Re: Saving Transitions in CS6

The workaround I use is to save all my modified transitions in a dedicated timeline then copy and paste whatever I need from there. It's clunky but it works. ____________________________________ eric

This worked for me! Same issue - Space bar won't make it play. Clicking the play triangle won't make it play either. Basically, I can't play the sequence or a single clip at all! I tried re-starting,
