Thanks Dave but that is not the case. The offset I have in each shot is the same as the duration between the start of the recording and the slate, this is specifically related to some process editors

Which version of FCP If it is anything before FCPX I recommend you dual partition or have dual boot drive with SL and FCP7 on one partition and not upgrade that one. Just leave it legacy and working.

Thanks for all the answers and sorry for the delay. I was away from home and will be busy these days too. I restored from the backup and did a cleaner 10.6.8 upgrade. It behaved better (but no NR yet)

Might try setting FCP's device control to FW, but also set the option up to ignore TC breaks... It will have correct time code until the first break, and just continue on with the TC numbers past that

or open it in fcp, then goto "modify", "timecode" there you can set the reel, timecode and drop, non-drop settings. fcp will then change the clips time code.
