Hi, I bought a cheap MPEG2 capture card (MedioStream NEO) and can't seem to import its MPEG video in Encore without having to re-trancode it.. The MPEG2 files seem DVD compliant at 720x480 @ 29.97fps,

Francis, Could you inspect one of the MPEG files with Bitrate Viewer and post the data from the lower right (stream type, nom. bit rate, etc.) plus the value in the "peak" bit rate field

jtiis, Please check the override setting in the Properties of every timeline. They should all be "Not Set".

Demultiplexing doesn't affect the quality. It simply splits out the video and audio "as is" from the muxed file. There could be some issues converting the audio to Dolby Digital (AC3) though. If the a

If possible, the best solution would be to burn directly with Encore. If you want to burn with Nero and you want to avoid compatibility problems, I would suggest to add some kind of "dummy" DVD-ROM co

I would suggest PCM (AIFF) audio, 48KHz, 16 bit. Also keep the maximum level below -6dB.
