Marc, aplenty that's not the way it should be done now. Peter Chamberlain is advising to edit and grade in the timeline in a lower resolution such as HD, but when you are done that stage, then change

Set your project timeline setting to 24 fps before you import. Then the frames shot at 60 fps will lay down on the 24 fps track as you want, playback at 24 fps from the project timeline. Rick Lang iMa

You are using anamorphic lenses which squeeze the image horizontally. The monitor on the Blackmagic camera does not have an option to unsqueeze the image but you can add an electronic viewfinder (EVF)

Memory often helps but 16GB is likely fine. Since current memory is amazingly inexpensive and you plan to stick with the machine, I'd double the memory to 32GB. FCPX loves memory. As for the graphics

Canon 5D Mark II records stereo audio when an appropriate external mic is attached. The audio is 16-bit for left and right tracks. The internal mic is monaural and is likely 16 bit also. High-end auto
