Although there are some limitations for the free version, keyframing isn't one of those. Open the manual at page 939 and read on.

You can upgrade a product by providing the serial number of the previous version during the install time. Premiere pro cs5 which has encore CS5 only support the upgrade from last 3 version of encore.
