by Andy Neil 4 years ago
Hey guys. I'm working with 5K proxy material on 10.2.2. I got to a point in the edit where I needed to set a secondary clip anchor to a different clip in my primary. I couldn't figure it out. Of cours

Just thought I would share my Resolve and FCP X workflow, please feel free to join in. Since the footage will be mainly raw, I would start out in Resolve, piece together a rough cut, do some trimming

Assuming you're using dual system recording for audio and video: when and where are you syncing audio I've been clinging to PluralEyes as a step one, but curious to hear what others are doing. Rhett M

Make a 1080 Project. Set Spatial Conform to "None" on 4K clips. reframe as needed. Export.

Scale, spatial conform and synchronized clips bug
by jim bachalo 5 years ago
Scale, and spatial conform when using 4K footage on 1080p timeline don't at all seem consistent and I'm scratching my head as to why. I'm guessing the issue might be a bug related to synchronized clip

I have been editing 4K media in 1080 timelines in FCPX -- just finished a series of 7 vids for a client. I've been syncing with PluralEyes before ingest with no issues, but I have experienced a spatia

Buggy Wuggy

The 10.1 update for me has been a stability nightmare. It's laggy on the simplest edits, beach balling all over the place. When I look around other forums there is a lot of frustration about this from

When I initially upgraded to Mavericks, FCPX 10.0.9 was sluggish -- very sluggish. After pushing live projects through their edits, I did a clean install of Mavericks (I'm on a Mac Pro with an SSD for

I looking forward to trying out "Backups for Final Cut Pro." They have a FCPX 10.1 compatible version in the works. Hear good things about the app.
Garbage mask in FCPX
by Morten Berg 6 years ago
Has anyone found a working garbage-mask-plug-in (which can be animated) for FCPX 10.0.9. Tried "Alex4D Mask+ 8" and "RT 8 point Matte", but I can not get it to work well. I could go "Motion" but I jus

by Mario Gongora 8 years ago
Hi, I can't seem to find an answer to this. I'm trying to create a folder or find a frating system for effects and transitions but I can't seem to find it. Is there a way to do this Thanks! Mario.

One solution is select your effect, right click and open in motion, then save as with a new name back into Final Cut into a new grouping called "Favorites". Works great. Best, Geoff
