few years ago i have similar problem, half to half blue picture sometimes camera work good, sometimes picture is blue or half to half blue. CCU unid is damage, change this block 80% price of camcorder

JVC - HDV1 Sony - HDV2 but some years ago we shoot on 2 cameras, jvc-100 and jvc 200 (in hdv mode) and cameras is INCOMPABILITY tapes recorded on 100 don't play on 200 its litte difference in hd modes

BR-DV6000 is only SD deck Sony works in HDV2 system, you want HDV2 deck JVC don't make HDV2 decks!!! BR-HD50 plays only HDV1 (plus DV, DVCam, mini DV, miniDVCam) Sony HVR-M15E is on cheap HDV2 deck.
