hi, Im doing some test renders with a light rectangle with a texture map to it; i would the blackness of the texture to be invisible but i cant find how this could be achieved. is there any cinema 4d

Just to add to Roland's good suggestion to use Displacement Maps; To make the star, to use as a displacement map, create a solid layer and then use the Star Mask tool to create a feathered mask. Preco

You could try just using a plane object as your ribbon with a lot of subdivisions, using cloth tag then belt that to another object which you have an align to spline tag on, should work well... to add

Since Nulls default to 100x100 px, you can do it manually by changing the xy values to 50,50 rather than the default 0,0. There's also a terrific script from NAB scripts that will reposition anchor po

if you create the rectangle by using a shape layer, then you can add a repeater (from the little 'add' button to the right of the 'contents' property for the shape layer), and you can set the rotation

You can get pretty good detail as long as you have enough polygons in the cloth plane so it can form around the details. Dragging the size (in the cloth tag) down a little will really help get the det
