Random Jump Cuts based on time markers
by Rolando Lacanna 4 years ago
Hello I'm trying to edit this expression: segDur = .5; duration of each "segment" of random time minVal = inPoint; maxVal = outPoint - segDur; seed = Math.floor(time segDur); segStart = seed*segDur; s

mask points following absolute coordinates of a shape layer's path vertex
by Peter Zeet 5 months ago
HI! sorry if this has been posted before (I was sure to have read something related in the past), I tried to find it, but had no luck. So, I need to link a mask path to a shape path in the same layer,

AE scripting: process selected layers one by one

Hi! thanks to the bodymovin github page, I could figure out how to delete all the text animators from a layer via scripting. But it seems one layer must be processed at a time in order to select the t

offset start on formula deformer

Hi! I'm sure there is a way to offset the start of a simple formula sin animation, but I don't know how to tweak t to tell the wavy animation start at a giving frame. I come from After Effects echosys

Scripting: shift markers from selected layers random within values

Hi there! Have been trying to shift markers from a bunch of selected layers, and all ok, but when I try to add some randomness to the shifting, the markers of all the layers move the same amount of fr

change color to array desired words

Hi! Is there an easy way to make a text color fill selector work only when certain numbers (or words) within an array are reached I have an expression on the source text to add "." on thousands plus t
Re: change color to array desired words

Something like this for the Amount property of the selector maybe: myArray= "1.245.345 $", "348.154 $","987.348 $" ; txt = text.sourceText; gotOne = false; for (i = 0; i < myArray.length; i++){ if

trim paths velocity

Hi! I'm trying to achieve this kind of trim lenght via expressions. I'd usually link the start trim to a slider like this: sl=effect("Slider Control")("Slider"); content("Group 1").content("Trim Paths

assuming you animated the offset, applying this to the 'end' property should start to get you there: content("Trim Paths 1").offset.speed * thisComp.frameDuration Kevin Camp Art Director KCPQ, KZJO &

changing a property on every group inside shape layers via scripting?

Hello! I have 65 shape layers previously converted from text layer, and I need to access every single group's position to add a wiggle (so basically, every converted letter, which is now a group insid

Navigating a shape layer's hierarchy can be tricky, but here's a simple example where you have converted a text layer to a shape layer and have the shape layer selected: var myLayer = app.project.acti

guess shape layer content width?

Re: guess shape layer content width?

You can get the width of a layer content including text layers with thisLayer.sourceRectAtTime().width If you have a single letter on a layer, whether a shape layer or a text layer, that will return t

link scale to certain degrees

inPoint/outPoint Per Character Opacity

Something like this, I guess: maxDelay = .75; fadeTime = .5 if (time < (inPoint + outPoint) 2){ seedRandom(textIndex,true); delay = random(maxDelay); t = time-inPoint; if (t < delay) 100 else li

time remapping's offsetted speed + slider

Re: time remapping's offsetted speed + slider
by Dan Ebberts 5 years ago
If you keyframed time remapping is still linear and starts a zero, I would think you could replace the last line with this (not tested): if (numKeys 1) factor = (key(2).value-key(1).value) (key(2).tim

a slider to trim them all

Re: a slider to trim them all

Assuming your slider is on "Null 1" and your first 10 layers are participating shape layers, something like this should work: firstShapeLayer = 1; lastShapeLayer = 10; sliderRange = 100; s = thisComp.

Try setting the x rotation to 90, and keyframing the Amount from 100 to 0 (over about 10 frames). Then apply this Amount expression: delay = .1; tDelay = delay*textIndex; n = 0; if (numKeys 0){ n = ne
